It regulates all civil aviation, including unmanned aircraft systems (UAS/drones), under 14 CFR Part 107 for small UAS (<55 lb / 25 kg) and the Exception for Limited Recreational Operations (49 USC 44809) for hobbyists. As of September 16, 2023, most drones requiring registration must also broadcast Remote ID.
