Civil Aviation Authority
The UK Civil Aviation Authority regulates drones and model aircraft in the United Kingdom under the Air Navigation Order 2016 and UK-specific implementation of EASA-derived rules (UK Regulation (EU) 2019/947). From 1 January 2026, new UK class marks (UK0–UK6) replace EU C-class marks for newly-marketed aircraft, Flyer ID is required from 100 g, and Remote ID is mandatory for class-marked UK1–UK3 aircraft. The Open Category has three sub-categories: Over People (A1), Near People (A2), and Far from People (A3).
